Write a poem about an experience you had in your life.
 Gary Soto wrote about experiences from his life growing up in Fresno California.

Brainstorm different “snapshot” experiences that you may be able to write a narrative poem about.
1. Gather sensory details about the experience.
2. Choose characters for your poem
3. Determine the conflict
4. Dialogue
5 include a  plot- exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution
